Reading is ice cream
June 23, 2009
New books = yay! Here’s what I got today:
(Dull Boy, by Sarah Cross; Always Looking Up, by Michael J Fox; Along for the Ride, by Sarah Dessen)
Okay, enough shopping. Time to get back to work. (Sadly, I can’t read these quite yet, but they will be sweet incentive to reach my revision goals — kinda like no ice cream until you finish your cake, which I know is a bit of a twist on the old saying, but revisions are fun, too. Just not quite as fun as jumping into an awesome new book. Revising is cake, reading is ice cream. So no ice cream until I finish my day’s cake quota. And I’m thinking I should probably back away from the analogy right about now….)
Wishing you peace and good books. And ice cream.

A little incentive (bribery?) can be very useful. I hope the revisions are going well so you can dive into the new books soon.
(We had ice cream of sorts today–a chocolate malt/frosty with Murray during our day’s outing to Westminster Abbey.)

They are going well! But the books are calling me. Must. Not. Give. In.
