The patriotic season
October 24, 2009
Okay, fine. I’ve accepted it…. It’s fall.
I’ll admit it is pretty nice to see the maple leaves change to match the one on our flag, making fall the clear winner in the which-season-is-most-patriotic competition. (What, you’ve never heard of that competition?) Throw in blue sky and just-above-freezing temperatures this morning, and it was the perfect time for a run. And now, it’s the perfect afternoon for some yardwork, but somehow that doesn’t hold quite the same appeal for me. Maybe later…. (Hey, if I wait long enough, the snow will arrive and hide my mess of a yard anyway, right?)
Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!
Peace….

Such gorgeous colour! Can’t say as I’ve heard of that competition, but hands down fall is my favourite time of the year.

I always hate to see summer go, but fall definitely has a beauty all its own! And we’ve had some gorgeous fall days this year, for sure.

The leaves really are gorgeous — maybe I can justify not raking them up by officially proclaiming them to be art….

So that just shows B.C. is more patriotic than Alberta. We don’t have maple leaves, only snow on the ground. Enjoy your colours!

Thanks, Arti. And my condolences on the snow…. (I love it — it’s beautiful — but so not ready to see it in October.)
