Thankful Friday

There’s a “gratitude thing” that many bloggers take part in — Thankful Thursday — and I’ve taken part in it myself from time to time. This morning, after watching the vlog Sara Zarr posted yesterday, I was thinking that a grateful heart is a wonderful and powerful thing: wonderful, because it awakens us to the wonders around us, brings perspective, and, if we are people of faith, acknowledges our god; and powerful, because it has the ability to change our day, change our life, change us.

I’m not saying we should be grateful because it’s so wonderful and so powerful, because really I think gratitude is just one of those things that’s right. But it’s kind of cool what a difference it can make, don’t you think?

Today (even though I’ve missed the opportunity to blend alliteration with gratitude ;) ), I want to say this:

In the midst of grief and sadness, I am grateful for laughter and bad jokes and silliness and love. And above all, for family.

Me too… and as one who knows, I can say your family is grateful for you!

Beautifully put! Love that picture too. Family and laughter are on the top of my gratitude list too.
