Painting writing advice from Bob Ross
Have you seen the “Bob Ross Remixed” video? It’s quite awesome, with its happy little clouds and all. It’s also full of tidbits of his famous painting advice, and after listening to it, I realized it applies quite well to writing as well. Check it out:
.
So, take out your notebook and pen, or open your Word document, and then:
relax, let it flow, think like water…
this is your world, you’re the creator, find freedom on this canvas
you can do anything that you want to do…total power…
sing along, have a good time
believe that you can do it
Peace.
I remember watching him occasionally, back in our PA days. What a great remix… very applicable to the writing life. “I believe!”
I thought it was neat that painting advice fit writing so well. Maybe it would all be true of any artistic pursuit.
That video is awesome. I remember watching him when I was a kid.
I loved your writerly take on it.
Thanks, Medeia. So much of what he said (sang?) seemed relevant to me as a writer…and I needed to hear it.
That is AWESOME!
Brings back so many memories, my bro and I use to watch his show everyday on PBS (we didn’t have cable).
I still watch Bob Ross on PBS as they still run his shows here in Indianapolis.
