July’s reading pile seemed to be made up of things that’ve been on my shelves for ages (from a couple months to a couple years…poor books, languishing there while I read other things), and ooh man, there were some gems in that pile! Some books I read and loved this month:
- Jellicoe Road, by Melina Marchetta–wow! can’t believe I waited so long to read this.
- Marcelo in the Real World, by Francisco X. Stork–so good…thoughtful and thought-provoking.
- Code Name Verity, by Elizabeth Wein–absolutely compelling story set during WW2
- I’ll be Watching, by Pamela Porter, a verse novel set in small-town Saskatchewan, multiple POV…so well done!
Next up: Eleanor & Park, by Rainbow Rowell.
How about you? Whatcha reading these days?
